This year, 8Ball Open / race to 5 / staggered entries / players rated 8 or more pay $75, all others pay $50 / $500 added / true double knockout.

June 27/08 for players meeting and auction.  Players must have played in 2 qualifying

events to be allowed in.  Credit  will be given to the 404 series for the 2 qualifying events.

404 9Ball Series sched for Jan 5, 2008.  C'mon out and try your luck at this handicapped 9Ball tournament.  $50 entry (except for 8's or above), handicapped, alt break, no 9's off the break, register by noon.

Bigwigs CraZy8 League tournament this weekend. (Dec 8)  The field is closed at 32 so register in advance to ensure your seat.  Last crazy 8 event left 2 players unable to play because the field was closed.

Sat Nov 24 is the date for Event 2 of the 404 9Ball Series.  We're expecting a good turnout for this 1000 added handicap event.  $50 entry for most players, $75 if you are 8 or above.   Register before noon.

Nov 17 marks the date of Bigwigs Billiards first Crazy8 bracket tournament.  This promises to be an entertaining day of challenge and excitement as all players will be grouped in brackets of 8 with payouts for all brackets.  For more details, see Butch or Jim Martin.

The tournament held at Bigwigs Oct 27/28 was a huge success.  The no-handicap race to 5 format was well received by all 48 players in attendance.  Results below.

The Sunday matches had some interesting results.  To start things off, John Jorgenson took out Tol Kuy at the same time as Mario Morra sent Rob Hall to the snack bar.  Mike Roberts and Jim Toupin played a gutsy match that sent Jim to the B-Side while Rob Brandenburg worked his magic to move Vince McIntyre to the B-Side as well.  This set up a match between Ready-to-play Vince and a methodical Mario.  Vince worked his strategy and prevailed.  At the same time Jim Toupin and John Jorgenson played a tough hill/hill match that ended with John the winner.  This leads to John playing Vince in a fairly wide open match where Vince would lose and accept a 4th place finish.  John would then ready himself to play Rob Brandenburg who had just lost to Mike Roberts in the A-Side final.  Mike must now wait in the hot seat for the winner of the B-Side.
The B-side final proved to be a tough match where 1 miss could decide the fate but Rob B was on a roll and the outs were becoming routine.  John was retired to 3rd place and Rob and Mike would play the finals where Rob needed to beat Mike twice to win.  Rob was in such form by then there was little that Mike could do but watch as Rob neatly carved him up for 2 match wins to take 1st place.
Congrats to all the players, a very enjoyable tournament.

BigBigBig tournament at Bigwigs Oct 5,6,7.  The Canadian 9 Ball tour is holding it's first stop of the 2007/8 season in our little Billiard Club.  This tournament will house more former world champions than any tournament in Canada has seen before.  The field is now 96 and I believe it is all but filled.  There will be players from all over the world sharpening their competitive edge as this tournament is 1 week before the US Open 9Ball.    Can't wait!
